Asset Management and Control Android App with RFID Capabilities:
This Android project involves developing an application equipped with RFID capabilities for asset
management and control. Implemented as a single activity application, it facilitates navigation and
user interaction using Android’s Navigation Component for effective fragment management. The
MVVM pattern ensures maintainability and testability by separating the user interface from the
business logic.
Technical Details
The application is developed in Kotlin, known for its modern, expressive, and
concise syntax. The following Android libraries were utilized:
HILT
For dependency injection, simplifying the app's architecture and promoting modularization.
Navigation Component:
Facilitated in-app navigation between different parts of the app.
DataBinding
Binds UI components to data sources, enhancing the app’s responsiveness.
Coroutines and Flows
Utilized for asynchronous programming, ensuring smooth and responsive UI operations.
Background Workers
Handle background tasks, enhancing the app’s performance and reliability.
Retrofit
Communicates with a RESTful API, ensuring data synchronization between the app and server.
Room
Used for local caching, enabling offline-ready functionality for uninterrupted use without network connectivity.
For the webpage and backend components, the project utilized Directus, a low-code open-source
platform. Directus was chosen for its flexibility, ease of use, and robust data handling capabilities,
simplifying data management and backend development.
